Strengthening Support for Peace Processes in the Great Lakes Region

Dr. Ed Barnett MBE, Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission in Nairobi and Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat, has today paid a courtesy call on Hon. Charles Keter, the President's Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region.

During the meeting, the two leaders cognisant of the strong Kenya–UK relations and partnership across various sectors, including trade, peace and security, exchanged updates on ongoing peace initiatives within the Great Lakes Region. The UK has pledged to strengthen support for peace processes in the region, with a particular focus on Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
