The newly appointed Saudi Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Saad Abdullah S. Al Nofaia, today paid a courtesy call on Amb. Lindsay Kiptiness, Deputy Director General for Middle East Affairs, in Nairobi.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deeper political, economic, and multilateral cooperation. Amb. Kiptiness welcomed the envoy and wished him a successful tenure.

Ambassador Al Nofaia called for the resumption of high-level political consultations and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s preference for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts. Amb. Kiptiness expressed Kenya’s solidarity with the Kingdom amid Middle East tensions, welcomed the ceasefire, and urged all parties to uphold it.

On economic relations, Kenya pushed for increased Saudi imports of its fresh produce and beef, while both sides noted the need to finalize 11 pending agreements on trade, investment, security, and labour. They agreed to facilitate high-level visits to expedite the process.

Amb. Kiptiness also congratulated Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host Expo 2030, reaffirming Kenya’s participation.

The two officials further underscored support for a Sudanese-led resolution to the Sudan conflict and stressed adherence to international governance frameworks.
