The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, has bid farewell to envoys of the Jordan, Slovakia and Norway.
In his first meeting with H.E. Mr. Firas Khouri, the outgoing Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, discussions centered on deepening bilateral cooperation with the two leaders committing ensure the finalization and signing of various strategic Memoranda of Understanding in key areas, including defence, peace and security, tourism, trade and investment, as well as the maritime and blue economy, all sectors rich with untapped potential for both nations.
Dr Mudavadi underscored the warm and longstanding friendship between Kenya and Jordan, a relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and shared aspirations. The Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs commended Ambassador Khouri for his invaluable role in fostering closer ties and conveyed Kenya’s heartfelt greetings and message of goodwill to His Majesty King Abdullah II, reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to advancing this cherished partnership to even greater heights.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also bade farewell to H.E. Katarína Žuffa Leligdonová, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Kenya and Permanent Representative of Slovakia to UNEP and UN-Habitat.
Dr. Mudavadi highlighted the deepening cooperation between Kenya and Slovakia, especially in the areas of cybersecurity and healthcare; critical areas of strategic importance that continue to flourish under the Cooperation Agreement with the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation.
As H.E. Katarína Žuffa Leligdonová prepares for her next assignment, Dr. Mudavadi conveyed his best wishes to the envoy, and on behalf of the people of Kenya, extended warm greetings to H.E. President Peter Pellegrini and the citizens of the Slovak Republic, reaffirming Kenya’s readiness to build on the strong foundation of friendship between the two countries.
Dr. Musalia Mudavadi has also recognised the conclusion of H.E. Amb. Gunnar Andreas Holm’s remarkable tenure as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Kenya.
Reflecting on this shared journey, Dr. Mudavadi conveyed Kenya’s profound appreciation to the Kingdom of Norway and the Royal Norwegian Embassy for their steadfast partnership and invaluable contributions to Kenya’s development, as well as to the stability and prosperity of the wider region.
Over the years, Kenya and Norway have achieved notable progress in various areas including advancing peace and security, strengthening multilateral engagement, promoting the blue economy and sustainable fisheries, addressing climate change, conserving the environment, and championing humanitarian assistance, gender equality, and human rights.
Beyond Kenya’s borders, the Embassy under Amb. Holm’s leadership played a crucial role in fostering regional integration and dialogue in the Horn of Africa, contributing meaningfully to peace and economic development. Initiatives such as the Tumaini Initiative stood out as innovative platforms for constructive engagement, shaping policies and promoting consensus that resonate across the region.
