Farewell reception for outgoing UNON Staff

The Diplomatic Service Centre to the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) hosted a farewell reception in honour of the outgoing Coordinator/Deputy Director General, Mr. Maurice O.A. Okoth, OGW, and the outgoing Deputy Coordinator/Director, Foreign Service, Ms. Sharon Konchellah, in recognition of their distinguished service and leadership.

The Centre’s multi-agency operational team, comprising officers from the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs (MFDA), the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Directorate of Immigration Services, paid tribute to the two leaders for their exemplary stewardship, mentorship and commitment to strengthening the Centre’s operations.

In his valedictory remarks, Mr. Okoth underscored the importance of continually strengthening Nairobi’s position as a leading global multilateral hub through efficient and responsive service delivery to UNON and the Diplomatic Corps. He also commended the professionalism, dedication and teamwork of the inter-agency staff, noting that their collective efforts have significantly enhanced the Centre’s operational effectiveness.

Ms. Konchellah thanked the team for its strong spirit of collaboration and professionalism, encouraging staff to continue fostering teamwork, mutual support and continuous learning in advancing the Centre’s mandate.
