Objectives of Kenya’s Environment and Climate Change Diplomacy
- Advocate scaling up of climate finance and reform of the global economic and financial architecture considering the needs and priorities of developing countries;
- Champion the strengthening of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat);
- Advocate for more robust, implementable and effective Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs);
- Promote climate change adaptation, resilience building and mitigation@ and transition to green growth, and,
- Foster strategic collaboration and partnerships in the science policy interface, research, technology, innovation and development.
