MIDDLE EAST REGION ENVOYS MEET WITH CS MUTUA IN NAIROBI

In an effort to foster economic and social relations between Kenya and countries in the Middle East region, CS Dr. Alfred Mutua hosted the Ambassadors from the region for a luncheon on February 8, 2023.

Speaking during the event, the Cabinet Secretary noted that the region was of particular importance to Kenya given geographical proximities and due to the fact 250,000 Kenyans were currently residing and working in Middle Eastern countries.

The Cabinet Secretary lauded the long historical ties that existed between Kenyans and the countries of the region and called for more people-to-people interactions between the respective citizenries.

He further noted that this would be essential in promoting commerce between the two regions and crucial in addressing common challenges such as the fight against terrorism, extremism and radicalization.
